Logitech Driving Force Shifter Software, Manual and Review – As optional hardware for the Logitech G29 and G920, the Driving Force Shifter has value for users of this racing wheel. Because this is an optional part of the package, I feel it’s worth reviewing it myself, because of its limited functionality and because there are currently no plans to combine it with the G29 or G920.
The Driving Force Shifter is a distant relative of the shifters that come with the Driving Force G25 and G27. Six speeds are available with short, precise throws, along with one reverse gear that requires downward and rightward pressure. Just like the VW Beetle, it is quite small and inconspicuous and weighs under one kilogram.
The base on the shifter and knob made of solid plastic, but the gearshift is made of stainless steel and covered by a durable leather shifter cover. The knob is wrapped in leather glued together with glue until it looks sturdy and looks quite elegant. The top of the wheel stick is also covered by a plastic lid, which details the basic layout of the gear gate. You can turn it off with a flathead screwdriver, which allows you to take off the gear knob and replace it with what you have. This shifter has little in common with the old one, which is that there is still a sound at the end of the transmission 3 to 4 if you are not carefully using it.
